How It All Started

Having played 300+ shows together in one of the UKs most in-demand function bands; Moonlight Dynamite is a collaboration between Thomas Reinholz (left) and Alex Shaw (right), who decided one day that the events industry felt a bit... tired.

After speaking to multiple couples and clients across the UK, they found that this was, in-fact, a shared sentiment across many, many people. They heard frequent requests such as "please just no Neil Diamond", "I don't want the cruise-ship classics", and the most agreeable of all, "no Macarena(!!)".

In 2023, they decided it was time to scrap the classic function band in favour of a slicker, more versatile set up (as popularised in Ibiza); the "DJ-Live" experience. Combining the high-momentum versatility of a DJ with the spontaneity of live instruments and vocals, Moonlight Dynamite deliver high-interaction performances, suitable for any venue.
